Blogging update After a few posts. . . .back from mini-vacation. Good trip, mostly. started out kind of iffy as the furnace decided to quit working THE MORNING WE WERE LEAVING. Happily, it was just a tweaky motor so it was only a 3-hour delay. But it was snowing. Cold the whole time, too. Eh, not too bad. Saw a bunch of wildlife -- seals, elk, eagles, deer, not to mention various invertebrate fauna -- and ate a ot of food. And read a lot. I brought along A Salty Piece of Land by Jimmy Buffett. Good read and perfect for a seaside setting, even if it's in a far northern clime.

Of course, now I have a wild urge to sell all my belongings and move to the Caribbean. . . .
