This is a first Lincoln forest unearths old locomotive
Archaeologists and volunteers have unearthed part of an old locomotive and other artifacts buried in a canyon in the Sacramento Mountains.

Lincoln National Forest assistant archaeologist Eric Dillingham believes it could be part of a train involved in a boiler explosion in late 1938 in the old timber town of Marcia.

For ArchaeoBlog anyway: The first reported archaeological discovery of an exploded train.
