An excavation crew working in Stamping Ground made a discovery Friday that prompted archaeologists and a state medical examiner to be called in to investigate.

The excavation crew was cutting into an embankment for a road next to First Baptist Church on Woodlake Drive when they uncovered an iron coffin.
