Archaeologists plan dig at former village near Aurora
Archaeologists want to learn more about a former village in eastern Iowa.
To do that, a dig will begin this month at a log cabin built in 1851 near Aurora.

That's according to Dan Cohen, director of the Buchanan County Conservation Department.

He says the cabin currently serves as the centerpiece of Buchanan County's Jakway Park. In the past, it has been a stage coach stop, an inn, a post office and polling place.
