Cape archaeologists make finds in Marco
Some Cape Coral archaeologists found Native American artifacts as they sifted through dig on an ancient Key Marco site, where city workers had installed utilities.

The city of Marco Island hired Alex Sweeney of Cape Coral, a project archaeologist with Brockington and Associates Inc. of Atlanta. Sweeney’s wife, Kara Bridgman Sweeney assisted with the dig, along with several volunteers.
